MGMI is looking for a suitable person for Office Management in its Kolkata office at Sector V.
Salary – consolidated Rs 30000. Salary negotiable for the right candidate.
Designation: Executive Secretary, Qualifications Graduate plus MBA (preferred) with good communication skills and command in Spoken and Written English.
The candidate should have competency in working with Computers in Internet, MS Office, mainly, MS Word & MS Excel.
Experience – Preferably at least 10 years of acting as Office Superintendent or equivalent in an office setup with proficiency in managing telephone calls from Industry and organisations, handling and replying to mails, both postal and electronic, supervising a team of 7-8 persons with administrative and managerial acumen.
The post is contractual but can be continued as such, if the work done is found satisfactory. Can be absorbed in permanent employment in future, if found to continuously performing beyond expectations.

The Institute was establish in 1906 with the object of promoting "The study of all branches of mining methods and of mineral occurrences in India, with a view to disseminating the information for facilitating the economic development of the mineral industries in the country". Prior to Independence, the Government of India used to seek suggestion/comments of the institute in wide ranging issues from "induction of safety measures in underground mines to "income tax" slabs for small scale mines. The practice continued in post-independence era.
The institute has been recognised as a Mineral Industries in the country. Scientific and Industrial Research organisation (by the Department of Scientific community could, to their mutual benefit, discuss fully the problems which would continuously arise in the mineral industry.
The Mining, Geological & Metallurgical Institute of India (MGMI), established in 1906, has been very active in promoting education and training in the fields of Mining, Geology and Metallurgy right from its inception. To encourage young minds and achievers in these fields several Awards and Medals were instituted over the past more than 100 years. Though initially there were only a few Awards, over a period of time the number increased and in 2019 there were as many as 16 Awards. However, it was observed that in last few years the response for the Awards were not as per expectations. Hence, after lot of deliberations at different levels it was decided to reduce the number of Awards. It was further decided to give wide publicity about the awards with better citation and increased Award money to make the awards more attractive.
There are three categories of MGMI awards of Excellence:

Each award of Excellence would be in the form of a Certificate with Citation and a Cash Prize of Rs 50,000.00 (Rupees fifty thousand) only, the amount may change from time to time depending on the decision of the Council of MGMI.
